2024 'Off With My Head'

A low alcohol beverage made from the freshly pressed pomace of Gewurztraminer and Foch grapes, organic golden delicious apples and organic empress plums.
The apples were mashed then basket pressed, the juice was then left on recently pressed Pinot Noir skins to ferment and pick up some tannin and colour. The plums were aged for 18 months in neutral oak.
In a year where there was no fruit available in the Okanagan, we somehow managed to create a beverage that completely encompasses what this valley and this province is. Spent skins from Foch, a staple and stable hybrid grape that has endured everything. Gewurztraminer: the grape brought over by German immigrants after the war, an unlikely grape that thrives and grows beautifully here. Golden Delicious apples grown by the Simonsen family in Naramata, who have been here for a century, to add a touch of sweetness. Empress Plums from the Twisted Hill family in Cawston, who’s Portuguese heritage has built the agricultural community since the 70s/80s. All made by the son of Punjabi immigrants.
The result is an absolutely delicious, balanced, refreshing, sprtizy, low alcohol beverage that will be a staple in your cooler well into the summer.
