Farmed organically in Kaleden, BC at Gen V Vineyard by Kevin Rossion and family. 20+ year old vines, overlooking Skaha Lake.
Both the Muscat and the Chardonnay were harvested at the same time. Both varieties were destemmed completely by hand using a handmade “destemmer” crafted out of wood by a carpenter friend of ours. Due to the high temps during fermentation, the wild yeast kicked off almost immediately. The whole berries were hand plunged twice daily during a 6 day gentle maceration. The berries were then basket pressed into a stainless steel tank to continue primary and secondary fermentation. Once fermentation was complete, we added 32ppm of sulphur. The wine was then bottled by hand, unfined and unfiltered. Since we do not have any power or electricity on our property, everything was done by hand, feet, gravity and a generator for when absolutely necessary.
Nose - tangerine rind / peach tea / apricot blossoms
Palate - fresh kumquat / salted grapefruit / dandelion / lemon oil / Five Alive
