Origin: Kaleden, BC
Organically farmed at Gen V Vineyard, which sits above Skaha Lake in the village of Kaleden, Okanagan. The vines are planted North to South on a gentle slope above a large terrace. The soil consists of mainly sandy loam, with a wind blown top layer overlaying stone-free glacial lake sediments of silts and fine sands.
The Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris were picked and direct pressed together. The juice was then gravity racked into neutral barrels where it went through a natural fermentation. The wine was then left to age on gross lees undisturbed for 10 months. Carefully racked as to not disturb the lees and to take advantage of 10 months of natural settling. We then blended in 15% barrel aged Muscat. The wine was then bottled by hand, with 30ppm of added sulphur, unfined and unfiltered. The winery does not have any power or electricity, so everything was done analog and by hand.
