Type: Rosé
Varieties: Gamay
Origin: Naramata
Farmed organically and by hand at Homestead Vineyard solely by my wife Bree on the Naramata Bench. The soil consists of mostly sandy loam, and glacial gravel deposits. Bree managed the entire vineyard with nothing but her two hands, a weed whacker and a backpack sprayer.
The fruit was whole cluster pressed into stainless steel, where it went through a natural primary and secondary fermentation. Post fermentation we added 25ppm of sulphur and racked into neutral barrels where the wine rested on lees for 8 months. We then bottled by hand without fining or filtration.
Nose - peach blossom, fresh pomelo, pink carnations
Palate - white raspberry, rosewater, peach cobbler
We only made a couple of barrels of this wine so quantities are extremely limited.
