Type: White
Varietals: 100% Riesling
Origin: East Kelowna, Okanagan Valley

Grown at Hidden Vines Vineyard in East Kelowna. A very cool climate subregion, located on the slopes overlooking East Kelowna. Sustainably farmed by the Edwards Family. The growing season started off very late in June, after an incredibly cool and wet Spring. Followed by the warmest August on record, which helped propel things a bit. Warmer weather in October helped ripening a bit but being so far north the Riesling hung till the first snowfall in early November. The grapes came in at 16.5 brix and 16 TA. This meant that to balance the searing acid, there needed to be a decent amount of residual sugar left in the wine. I stopped the fermentation at 60g/l RS and left it outside during the cold snap. The weather hit -28 and the entire volume of wine froze solid. I brought the tank back inside to thaw. It was left on lees for about 3 months and then bottled in February.
